Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Bayaan Live ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

Bayaan Live is an Islamic companion app that provides:

• Live Islamic lecture streaming and broadcasting
• Qibla direction based on your location
• Prayer times (Salah and Sehri/Iftar) based on your location
• Quran reading interface
• Islamic calendar and Hijri date conversion
• Access to past session recordings

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to use the App. By using the App, you represent and warrant that you meet this eligibility requirement. If you are under 18, you should review these Terms with a parent or guardian.

4. User Accounts

4.1 Account Creation

To access certain features, you may need to create an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information and to keep it up to date.

4.2 Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access.

4.3 Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or engage in conduct harmful to the community.

5. User Conduct

When using Bayaan Live, you agree not to:

• Broadcast or share content that is unlawful, defamatory, obscene, or offensive
• Impersonate any person or entity
• Harass, threaten, or intimidate other users
• Upload or transmit viruses or malicious code
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the App or its servers
• Use the App for any commercial purpose without our express written consent
• Violate any applicable local, national, or international law

6. Content

6.1 Your Content

You retain ownership of content you create and broadcast. By sharing content through the App, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, store, and display your content solely for the purpose of operating the App.

6.2 Our Content

All content provided by Bayaan Live — including the Quran text, UI design, and recordings — is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission.

6.3 Content Moderation

We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these Terms or that we deem inappropriate, without notice.

7. Device Permissions

The App requests certain device permissions (location, camera, microphone, photo library) to provide its features. Granting these permissions is voluntary; however, certain features may not function without them. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Bayaan Live and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the App.

10. Third-Party Services

The App uses third-party services including Supabase, LiveKit, and Firebase. Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices of these third parties.

11. Changes to the App or Terms

We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the App (or any part of it) at any time. We may also update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes shall be resolved in the appropriate courts of the jurisdiction in which Bayaan Live operates.
